Auditor specific duties:
Through a detailed, public, and transparent process that stretches over several months, prepares Grand County's Tentative Budget
Manages the annual External Audit of Grand County Finances
Oversees County Procurement procedures - guiding all county departments in submitting projects for bid and following purchasing policies.
Prepares the annual Notice of Tax Valuation and administers all local property tax appeals, works with the State Tax Commission to calculate the annual certified tax rate, and shares management duties regarding the real property tax system with the Recorder, Assessor, and the Treasurer
Administers all other financial and accounting functions for the county, including Accounts Payable, and a complex bi-weekly payroll for over 200 Grand County Employees
Clerk specific duties:
As the county’s Chief Elections Officer, the Clerk maintains Grand County’s voter registration, candidates, and election processes. The Clerk also administers all elections held in Grand County pertaining to state or national offices.
Records management, including public records requests and recording minutes of the County Commission
Oversees Marriage Licensing
Oversees Business Licensing in the Unincorporated County
Keeps and maintain all official county records and documents, including ordinances, resolutions, and contracts
